My family was impressed by the excellent care my mother received in the last weeks of her life. We were particularly struck by the outstanding work of Liezel who provided uniformly excellent care to my mother and, as we could see, to the other patients on the ward. This was particularly striking because we saw her more than once in the ward, at night, under particularly busy conditions. She kept her team focused, delivering great care and, at the same time, showed great concern for our wellbeing, keeping us informed and being highly supportive.
However tough things became she seemed to rise above the circumstance and keep a smile and a lot of warmth and kindness, but without any loss of skilled professionalism. She strikes us as a real inspiration to other nurses.
