Our baby was admitted to the hospital for 5 months, 4 of which were in the intensive care unit. Every day had its struggles and uncertainty, as our son was in a very critical condition. During this admission, Liji was a noteworthy nurse who discharged her responsibilities with due diligence and care. Liji was concerned and supportive of our welfare and well-being as parents and cared to know if we were satisfied with the delivery and standard of care provided. She was professional, approachable, and willing to help. She paid attention to details regarding our son’s care, such as giving a soft massage whenever she administered intravenous injections to ease passage into his veins. Liji was always happy to go over and beyond. One instance was when she went to collect a spare respiratory mask for my son from another unit that seemed far away even though it was the end of her shift. We often looked forward to having her around. Furthermore, Liji gave recommendations on the timing of his wash after thoughtful observation of his sleeping pattern. She also showed utmost regard, respect, and encouragement whenever we prayed for our son. Her skills, compassion, and dedication helped get our child back to normal in the face of challenging medical situations.
