I was scared. She comforted me and told me all would be okay and that I was in good hands.
Lila was with me through my whole stay. She made sure not only that I was good but also my support system as well. This was my first ever major surgery, and I was scared. She comforted me and told me all would be okay and that I was in good hands. After I got out of surgery, I wanted to go for a walk since I was tired of lying down. She got me up and walked with me. We both got to the nurses' station and noticed that I was going to pass out since I was sheet white. I’ve never seen people move so fast for nearly passing out. Lila and her coworkers moved like a well-oiled machine and did not allow me to pass out and asked to keep my eyes open. They made me safe again in my room as I tried to ingest something to help out my blood pressure. During my discharge, Lila made sure that my incisions were OK since they were looking a little rough. She asked a fellow coworker and her charge nurse, and both of them agreed that my incisions were fine. She made sure I understood what to expect in the next coming days and who to call if I had questions about anything. I have met a lot of dedicated and skilled nurses who worked tirelessly, but only very few stand out from the rest, and Lila is on that very list.

My Significant other, R, was checked in for Appendicitis and was to be monitored leading up to surgery and after. The day nurse, Lila, was exceptional in her job and made our time in the hospital one of comfort and joy. She was very quick to respond to requests, answered any and all questions we had, and made sure to care for R even when no friends or family were present. I'm thankful individuals like her are working in healthcare.
