Lilia is an outstanding nurse. Whenever she is a team leader, there is always an environment of positivity. She always has a smile and welcoming words for everyone entering our unit. She is helpful to her nurses by guiding and supporting them in the care of patients. She never leaves a nurse unattended when they have an unstable patient. She always advocates for the patients by ensuring prompt phone calls to doctors and coordinating care with other units.

As a primary nurse, her patients always receive excellent care. She makes sure family members are always informed and updated. Recently, Lilia received an unstable patient who had a procedure completed. The patient was so scared during the procedure that the patient vomited blood and kept repeating the experience over and over. Lilia provided the patient with individual attention, validating her fears and educating, encouraging, and reassuring her. The patient’s prognosis improved, and she relaxed and calmed down. Lilia stabilized the patient, and she went to the ICU two hours later, laughing and telling jokes. There are multiple examples of Lilia’s excellent patient care and leadership skills, which are worthy of recognition.
