Lillian Wolin, a RN in the Endoscopy Suite at Memorial Hospital West was nominated by the family of a terminally ill patient. The family, hoping to improve the limited quality of life for their brother, supported their brother with an attempted dilation. The procedure was not able to be preformed. The patient, having poor quality of life was so upset as was the family. Lillian, recognizing that this family was suffering, provided care. Even though the Endo Suite was at critical capacity with other patients, Lillian never allowed the family to feel rushed. Lillian was able to provide care that was kind, compassionate and loving to this family without ignoring all the other patients that also needed Lillian's care. Lillian ensured that this suffering family was cared for in the most kind manner. The family was so moved by Lillian's Nursing Practice, they nominated her for the DAISY Award. Well deserved!!!
