Lily is such a kind and compassionate nurse. I was here as a patient for almost a week and the bed in my room was incredibly uncomfortable, so much so that I could feel the metal bed frame on my back. When you are trying to recover from a C-section with a tubal ligation with a twin pregnancy, good quality sleep is essential to healing.

One morning, when Lily was my nurse, my blood pressure was higher than it had been, and a headache and chills began to happen. Lily sprang into action quickly as she was concerned about pre-eclampsia. I expressed to her how I hadn't gotten more than 2-3 hours of sleep for several days due partially to the bed being so uncomfortable, and I believe that was a contributing factor to my symptoms worsening.

Lily displayed advocacy and collaboration by making calls and trying to find a solution to my bed situation. Within the hour of her making those calls, I had a brand-new bed in my room that was a million times better than my old one! She displayed empathy for me as a patient, and she even said, "Well, now I can rest better tonight, knowing you can rest better." For the first time since my stay on that unit, I got a good nap and good quality sleep that night. Her thought to take action instead of just apologizing for the bed being uncomfortable helped my healing process, and I was able to be discharged a couple of days later. Lily's actions brought me to tears. I will never forget her. As a fellow nurse, she makes me want to take better care of my patients.

Thank you, Lily, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
