She went above and beyond her duties as a nurse. We recently had a patient who was at the end of life. Lily requested to care for this sweet baby and her family for multiple days in a row. She honestly took care of this baby like she was family. Parents were not always able to be at the bedside and Lily assured the parents that their baby would be well taken care of. In the baby’s last 48 hours and during Lily’s shifts, she made her as comfortable as she could - frequent medications, playing songs in Spanish, and holding her tight as she struggled to breathe. When the time came and this baby passed on, Lily bathed her, dressed her in beautiful clothes, and held her until it was time to pass her off and proceed with the next steps. This family adored Lily and I'm sure the baby did as well. She truly made a huge difference in the care of this baby. Something so sad and heartbreaking - Lily gave hope and love to this baby, her family, and all of us on 3 C. Thank you, Lily, for being so strong.
