Not a day goes by that Lily does not pull up her sleeves and assist the PCTs, ensuring her patients are provided the best care. She is a great example of what an amazing frontline nurse should be.
Lily Neibart has shown so much growth as a new nurse. She represents the 5 C’s in every way. Lily not only provides compassionate care to our patients, she also shows compassion towards her team. She actively listens to her patients and does her absolute best to advocate for them always.
Lily likes to think of simple ways to help promote a positive team environment. Of course, everyone loves payday Friday. Each payday Friday that Lily works is always a fun day for the team in that she always thinks of ways to celebrate by bringing in something sweet, such as donuts or cakes.
One day, after caring for her patient for a few days, she began to know what he liked and what made him happy. Lily’s patient came to her leader and brought her into his room. The patient began to explain how he would walk around the unit daily. On this particular day, when the patient returned to his room, Lily changed the linen on his bed, prepared his recliner chair, and cleared his table. He was so elated. He could not believe how much she paid attention to the little things. He said, "Lily is a jewel and has been a great nurse. You are lucky to have her."
She consistently keeps her whiteboards updated, using this important tool to communicate with the patients so they are always informed about their plan of care. She is a great Preceptor to the new nurses. She is always willing to share ideas on how to help the new nurse have a better understanding of the various responsibilities and skills needed to become a nurse representing the 5Cs.
Lily is always willing to help everyone. She is a great Preceptor and Charge Nurse. She is dependable and is a jewel on Brennan 5. I round on the patients almost every day, and not a day goes by that I don't hear about something that Lily has done to make a patient feel more comfortable and cared about. She definitely takes her nursing duties to a much higher level, providing compassion, respect, and professionalism.
