My wife and I came into Munson in the middle of the night, scared to death and 2 weeks early with contractions, expecting the birth of our first baby. As we tried to prepare for the unknown, my wife's nurse, Lina, went above and beyond. The way she handled every unfamiliar, uncomfortable, or terrifying situation that arose (and there were a lot) was, in my eyes, some of the best care I've ever seen. She was a rock for us. When complications popped up, she was able to make very clear to us what was happening with a sense of truly caring about us. She managed to have a monumental impact on our entire support team, making everyone feel safe and comfortable and heard. When my wife was terrified and thinking "I can't do this," Lina was there to coach and help her really believe in herself. When our VERY eager family members wanted to barge in, she protected our space. When we were in our most fearful moments, she prayed with us. Seeming at every high-pressure moment to be able to lower the temperature. Lina kept us comfortable. It was exhausting and exciting, and she was able to help us navigate our feelings and emotions so that we felt confident in ourselves. I can't say enough about her caring nature, professionalism, and her willingness to go above the call of duty. She was bulletproof.
