The kindness and compassion that she showed my mother was unparalleled. Lina treated us like family. She laughed with us, cried with us, and prayed for us.
Never in a million years did I think when I brought my mom to the hospital; she wouldn't come home. I happened to be on vacation and was able to stay at the hospital with her as much as I could until the end. When I went home to eat, shower, and rest, Lina Longo had floated to the 4th floor from the 6th floor and made me, my family, and most importantly, my mother very comfortable. When I returned to the hospital one morning, Lina explained with empathy and compassion that my mother's need for oxygen had increased. She carefully and knowledgeably explained what the next steps in my mother's plan of care would be. The kindness and compassion that she showed my mother was unparalleled. Lina treated us like family. She laughed with us, cried with us, and prayed for us. Lina kept us informed every step of the way and went above and beyond for our family. Lina was always honest and transparent about my mother's situation and clarified all our questions and concerns. Unfortunately, my mother passed away. It is comforting to know that we received such good care and service from a hospital when a nurse like Lina was there to take care of my mother. Lina's overall bedside manner and professionalism are what make her a true DAISY Nurse.
