Linda provided outstanding care for our twin daughters in the NICU. Our twins were born 7 weeks early and spent 44 days in the NICU (with at least 40 of those days being in the step-down unit). Linda quickly became our favorite nurse as we recognized her incredible attention to detail, organization, and overall top-notch care for our girls.
Linda was always the first nurse to recognize if something was wrong – like the hugs tags being too tight, irritated skin, goopy tear ducts, etc. and she always remembered my NICU mother’s nursing food pass without asking. On multiple occasions, She lent a listening ear while my husband and I expressed our frustration and despair while on our NICU journey. During our emotional moments, Linda had a great way of level-setting with us.
We would often see Linda doing reporting hours after her shift was done. It is evident that she cares deeply about what she does and desires to provide the best care possible. Integrity is a word that comes to mind when describing her many quality characteristics.
Linda set the bar high for any other nurse we had. It’s people like this who can make a difficult experience like staying in the NICU great. While we were ecstatic to finally be able to leave and start our life as a family at home, we were sad to say goodbye to our new friends in the step-down unit.
