Linda exemplifies compassion, caring, and kindness. She is a tireless advocate for patients, families, and nursing staff. She believes that any person who steps inside of our hospital requiring help is a patient. She ensures that the patient receives the best and appropriate level of care at this hospital or any other hospital.
A patient was posted for admission while reviewing the chart she found the patient had a recent diagnosis that required specialty care our community hospital would not be able to provide. Rather than have the care for that diagnosis be delayed to treat the reason for the current admission, she advocated for the patient and assisted in the coordination of a transfer so the patient could receive both treatments.
An out of town visitor came to our hospital to purchase a needed supply that was left at home (out of state) when they flew to our state for a family crisis. Linda made several phone calls including the patient's nurse in California because the supply was specific to the patient and not available. She made arrangements for the person to have bridge care until the supply could be obtained.
