Nominations from coworkers:
I have known and enjoyed working with Linda for 14 years. She has always displayed leadership qualities whether working as 2N charge nurse or mentoring students or new grads. Linda is funny and serious at the same time. She is also strong and encouraging in times of stress. When she left 2N they felt they couldn’t work without her, however she had prepared them well and transition was smooth. Linda deserves the DAISY Award as she consistently combines professionalism with excellent nursing skills and compassion.
I’ve worked with Linda for many years. She is always professional in every situation with coworkers, doctors, patients and their families. She is willing to help and she has the knowledge to take care of any issues that arise. You always know that if Linda was the nurse for your patient then things were done right! She has oriented many of our current cath lab nurses and they all received excellent instructions and encouragement from the throughout the years. Linda can always be counted on to give us help in cath lab holding. She is definitely a blessing to all she either works with or takes care of!
As a new nurse Linda took me under her wing and taught me everything. She was never condescending and treated me with the utmost respect. She always took me by the hand and said “come on, let’s take care of this”. She has continued this to this day and is respected by everyone who has ever met her.
Linda was the first RN I met on 2North ten years ago when I dropped off a patient to her with a sheath from the cath lab after a heart cath and intervention. She is calm, knowledgeable and a complete role model for me and every associate. She is the ultimate professional. She is kind hearted, direct and honest with her patients as well as others who have worked with and beside her. She tells it like it is. She is an extraordinary nurse who encompasses dignity, integrity, compassion, excellence and stewardship as she extends the healing ministry of Jesus Christ and Cabrini.
