It takes a special soul to utilize the talents of our Veterans, take their rough wound edges, and help heal them with a caring smile, confident skills, and willing heart to compassionately serve each one day after day.
Before the door closes on "Nurse Linda's" career as an angel in scrubs, I would like to share how amazing she is. Although our father's knee replacement was already planned and our parents were planning to walk this procedure alone, fate had a different plan. Mom had a stroke and she did survive because of the skillful hands in the ER. All of us kids flew in to be with both of our parents who are both Veterans (Dad-Marine and Mom-Navy) through these challenging moments over this past week. As I brought dad up to the waiting area for SPU, we were greeted by Linda who put his mind at ease. She provided peace of mind throughout the delay and family conversations to keep him and the large extended family informed and at ease. It takes a special soul to utilize the talents of our Veterans, take their rough wound edges, and help heal them with a caring smile, confident skills, and willing heart to compassionately serve each one day after day. Doing good and not causing harm. So thank you to Nurse Linda for your 40+ years of Nursing and tenderly closing your chapters of years in healthcare from ICU to the SPU here for our Veterans, our moms, and our dads! You keep confident and in peace through their procedures and through recovery. God bless you, an angel in scrubs!
