I would like to recognize Linda Garcia for the exceptional care that she provides to her team as well as the hospital in general. To say that she is an engaged servant leader is an understatement. Linda is known for coming to work at all hours of the day and night to support her team. She is energetic, full of spunk, and it is felt when anyone walks onto her unit. She is a doer and a worker bee. Linda’s compassion and servanthood are not only displayed with her team but, outside of work as well.

Linda came in on the evening shift and was making rounds throughout the hospital offering treats to staff. The charge nurse was in awe of her willingness to come in during her off-hours to check on the employees’ well-being. Linda is a gift to her manager colleagues; she arranges birthday celebrations monthly with decorations and party favors for all. Linda’s unit was one of the COVID units and she displayed the same level of intensity and enthusiasm even when she and her team was under a large amount of stress.

Linda allowed me to stay overnight which saved my dad’s life. He went out while using the restroom. If I wasn’t there to alert staff, we may have lost him. Linda would visit my dad daily to check on his progress and encourage him. This unit reflects her leadership, empathy, knowledge, and care for the patient and families.

I would like to take a moment to commend Linda for her compassion, caring, and all-around knowledge and attentiveness to attention to me during my stay in the hospital. Linda is definitely the right person for her position in the hospital. She has the best staff under her supervision. She definitely makes MH Southeast shine!
