I had Dr. Ledet for mental health practicum and she was one of the best clinical instructors I have ever had. Once arriving on the mental health unit, all of the students were a little bit anxious to begin conversations with the patients, as we have had no experience with the mentally ill. However, Dr. Ledet always reiterated to us to not be scared of the patients and to treat them like a normal person. A patient then came up to Dr. Ledet and she began a therapeutic communication with him and developed a real connection in no time. All of the students were shocked at how easy it was for her! Dr. Ledet explained to us it takes practice and that we would be able to do the same, and by the end of our clinical we could!

When I was in Dr. Ledet's clinical group, I encountered an ethical dilemma when I witnessed the way a nurse was treating a patient. It was very upsetting to me, and when I addressed it with Dr. Ledet, she met with me outside of clinicals to discuss the situation. Since she was concerned also, she accompanied me during a discussion with a charge nurse on the unit. The situation was resolved, and I am so appreciative of her guidance and example of patient advocacy and professionalism.

Dr. Ledet is the definition of excellence in nursing education. She exudes compassion and caring towards her students, patients, and health care professionals in the clinical setting and her colleagues at LSU. Every day when we entered the mental health unit at the VA, patients seemed to be naturally drawn to her warm demeanor. Throughout our clinical experience, we were lucky enough to learn so much from Dr. Ledet, who serves as an excellent role model of what nursing and nursing education should be. She genuinely cares about her students and constantly encourages them to reach their full potential. From my clinical experience with Dr. Ledet, I gained a wealth of knowledge and confidence in my abilities. I can truly say that I will be a better nurse thanks to Dr. Ledet.

Dr. Ledet goes above and beyond for her students. She not only tries to get to know every student in her courses, but she would also stop in the middle of the hallway and spend a few minutes out of her day to ask how her student was doing. Every time there was an opportunity for scholarships or events that can help her students further their knowledge of nursing, Dr. Ledet would be the first to reach out. She is very compassionate, caring, and an excellent role model for her students.

Ms. Ledet is one of the professors who genuinely cares for her students ' success. Her approach to directing students was very professional. Anyone can tell that she is very passionate about her field, which makes learning more enjoyable.

She is definitely a caring person. She was there for me at a time I felt really down. I saw how she always made herself available for other students who needed encouragement during one of the most difficult semesters in our nursing education thus far. She always has good energy. I can see that she genuinely enjoys helping people.
