March 2026 Honoree
Linda McGinnis, RN
My mother was transferred to the Oncology Floor from the Neurological ICU, where she had spent the previous two weeks. She was moved once it became clear that she would not recover, as the Oncology Floor is where Comfort Care patients are cared for.
Linda was patient, kind, and very responsive throughout our time there. She was incredibly understanding of our situation and showed genuine empathy. During such a painful and overwhelming time, she helped guide us through difficult decisions about medications and timing, offering both clarity and compassion.
It was a tragic, devastating, and emotionally exhausting experience, but I found comfort in knowing that Linda would be with us during the night shifts. Her presence was a source of reassurance to our family.
I am deeply grateful to have met her and thankful that she was there to help care for my mother in her final days. She made an incredibly difficult transition—for my mother and for our family—as smooth and peaceful as possible.
