Linda is always willing to go above and beyond for her patients. On this day, she had a patient on precautions who had just gotten out of surgery and was very sick. While taking care of her, she learned that she had two younger children at home, one who was also sick. Due to complications from her illness, what was supposed to be an overnight stay for the patient, turned into two nights. The patient was very worried about her children and told Linda that she had only planned on being away for one night, and she was concerned they may not have enough food. They didn’t have any family or friends local that were able to stop in and check on them, and they didn’t have any extra money.
With the patient's permission, before she came back to work the next night, Linda drove out of her way to check on her patient’s children and brought them a hot meal, along with groceries and gift cards. Not only did Linda give her patient some peace of mind but provided for her children in a way that not many people would have. Linda is an amazing nurse, and her patients are lucky to have her!
