I arrived at DRMC one day after hearing my father was airlifted due to a stroke. My father, being a stubborn person, clearly began to downplay his condition. Linda really implemented the stroke education. She took the time to explain the terminology and education regarding stroke. She also played a major role in changing my father's mindset. She helped him to understand that having a stroke is a life changing event, and if his actions post-stroke did not improve, his risk was high for another one. She also was able to coach my father to be honest about his stroke symptoms which delayed his discharge, potentially preventing him from having a setback. I was so pleased with her care and professionalism. She was attentive, kind and very helpful. I feel like I formed a relationship with her in just two days. I felt so relieved knowing she was there. She is an extraordinary nurse.
