April 2013 Honoree
linda stemig, BSN
Linda was nominated twice by three fellow RNs...
(1st nomination)
She has years of experience and competence, and brings amazing warmth and kindness to the Emergency Dept. I have so much respect for her on so many levels - as a fellow nurse and as a wonderful example of humankind. I have never heard her utter a disrespectful or negative word about anyone - patient - co-worker- or family member! She is always calm and assertive during a crisis situation, yet she exudes compassion and empathy as well. She is a true gem, and I feel anyone who has worked alongside her recognizes this as well. She represents everything the DAISY Award recognizes. Her demeanor is warm-hearted, respectful and thoughtful towards patients, families, and co-workers. I have witness her kind words diffuse an angry or unhappy patient. She is a role model for me to practice nursing in her caring style. What makes Linda outstanding is her consistent compassionate care for her patients and towards her co-workers, she might describe herself as ordinary, but to staff she is EXTERAORDINARY!!!
(2nd nomination)
Linda is a great nurse! She is a hard worker and easy to work with, has many years of experience and is very knowledgeable. She is kind and has a calming effect on her patients. She is always willing to lend a hand and go the "extra mile." She is a great leader and is a wonderful charge nurse; the day flows well when working with her. She never has an unkind word to say. She is the kind of person that would be easy to have as a best friend. I'm proud to call her my friend and co-worker.
