June 2014 Honoree
linda stewart 2014, RN
A patient was here for a bowel issue. Linda had been his nurse the day prior, she comes in and notices that there are changes in the patient and gets concerned, calls the surgeon and the patient is rushed back to OR for emergency surgery, then ICU. The family firmly believes because of Linda's quick assessment and actions, her continuity of care and gut reaction, that their family member is here today.
She is always complimented by patients and family for her sense of humor, honest interaction and patient focus.
She develops a rapport with patients/families, and they call her Nurse Ratchet at her insistence. She cares deeply about patient safety all the way through discharge.
Linda has been at Kootenai for about 17 years and is very appreciated by her patients.
