Linda spent an entire month collaborating with me and the medical team at the GI office to get this done, and boy did it take a willing heart and a dedicated, relentless enthusiasm, all of which Linda has.
My son is a patient of your Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition Clinic. Throughout the entire month of August, one of your amazing nurses was truly my helping warrior in the fight with my insurance company while attempting to have my son's prescription formula approved. The battle was lengthy and ridiculous. Her name is Linda Sullivan. I am writing to let you know that she has absolutely restored my faith not only in health care but in humanity and in quality nursing care.
My son has a severe milk allergy and has required ELECARE and ELECARE Junior since he was 2 months old. He is now nearly 18 months and was up for a new authorization from our insurance company to get this formula covered under my medical benefit. Linda spent an entire month collaborating with me and the medical team at the GI office to get this done, and boy did it take a willing heart and a dedicated, relentless enthusiasm, all of which Linda has. I know there were at least 20-25 phone calls between the two of us, perhaps even more with the insurance company along with 15 or so fax attempts. In between each of these connections, I know she had an entire workload of her own to manage but yet her patience never failed me!
The problem was of course on the end of the insurance company and it was ultimately resolved, but what I'm trying to convey to you is that Linda Sullivan is absolutely wonderful and deserves all of the recognition, praise, compensation, and admiration she can receive from her management team. Linda was always caring, understanding, flexible, and completely thorough in the way she communicated with me and how she handled the absurdity from my insurance company. She never rushed me, never made me feel like I was bothering her, and was so optimistic about finding a way to get this accomplished for us. She gave me such peace when I spoke to her and it gave me hope that I was going to find a way to pay for the $600 per month it costs to give my son his formula.
I ask that you please share this letter with any and all parties who can help show Linda Sullivan the gratitude I have for her amazing "phone-side" manner! She is a role model for those around her and blessed are those she has the opportunity to care for. I am certain she encompasses all of the amazing qualities of a tremendous nurse. She truly went above and beyond for me and I am most thankful for all that she did. I know her position involves mostly direct pediatric patient care. As a nurse myself, I am fully aware of how much care and attention patients deserve and I can guarantee you that Linda Sullivan is the kind of nurse I pray I always encounter both in my professional endeavors and personal health care journeys.
