Linda Szempruch, RN, BSN, CRRN, is not only a nurse who has made a notable impact for patients on St. Charles Hospital's Rehabilitation Unit. She is also someone who continually takes pride in her role as a nursing professional.
A recent patient explained, "I loved Linda as my nurse. She was so nice and really cared about my pain being managed with my medication. Once she knew I was in pain, she called the doctor immediately to discuss."
Another patient also commented on Linda's attention to her pain, saying, "Her persistence last night in making sure I was a comfortable as possible and that my pain was under control was very much appreciated."
Linda's supervisors echo this sentiment, saying, "Linda makes every effort to provide the best care and experience for her patients, which makes her a wonderful role model and mentor when she is a preceptor to the new hires."
According to her supervisors, Linda also pays careful attention to details within her working environment.
"I know that Linda is working in the first 5 minutes I am on the unit by looking around the nursing desk, med cart and kitchen area, all of which she organizes, sanitizes and restocks," remarked the Nursing Care Coordinator on the Rehabilitation Unit.
"Linda also has board assignments ready to go and manages many other tasks that seem to go adrift each day."
Linda has likewise committed herself to professional development. Although she has already achieved her BSN and is a certified rehabilitation registered nurse, Linda continues to move up the clinical ladder and reached level III in February 2019.
