On March 4, 2014, just a couple of weeks before retiring as the Chief Nursing Officer, Linda von Reyn was recognized with a DAISY Award for being "a nurse who exemplifies the heart of nursing."
In her recognition letter, von Reyn was lauded for her "steady commitment to the profession of nursing and to Dartmouth-Hitchcock since her graduation from the Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. "Throughout the years and throughout her many roles at D-H, von Reyn demonstrated a high level of empathy and compassion for her fellow co-workers, as well as for patients and for families."
Across the organization, colleagues have been influenced by her compassionate leadership style and felt valued by her for their contributions. Their hope is that "she always recalls the legacy she has left in her wake, and that this small recognition be a symbol of our gratitude. Linda, we will always remember you as a nurse's nurse!"

Thank you, Linda, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
