Linda Wilson shows exemplary care to her patients every day. She frequently goes above and beyond to provide excellent care and one day stands out. Linda was assigned to be picc line nurse and received an order to place a line on a young patient who was going to the OR. The line wasn’t able to be placed prior to the patient's OR time and would need to be placed post-operatively. When the patient arrived at the recovery room, the PACU nurses called over to the minor to ask if it was too late to have the line placed as the patient was anxious and wanted to go home but couldn’t without the line. Linda knew the circumstances, and despite her shift being over, she went over to PACU to place the line. The patient was crying and very anxious as she had just had surgery and now needed another procedure. Linda explained everything she was going to do before she did it. She answered all of the patient’s questions. She was professional and kind. She calmed the patient while placing the line efficiently so the patient could be discharged post recovery with no delay while waiting for a line. Linda provides this kind of care with attention to detail every day. She takes into consideration the whole picture and always works in the best interest of the patient.
