Lindey, as our PICU nurse, noticed a slight squeak in my daughter’s breathing and her left lung sounded deflated. I watched as she followed precise steps, first bagging and suctioning her airway/breathing apparatus. Then calling Respiratory, who did that again. Lindey had a feeling something was off. She checked records on the computer and came back to look at monitors to see something was going wrong. I was so impressed to see her calmly initiate emergency steps. Within seconds a team was in there to support. In minutes everyone was with masks, hairnets and the surgeon was present. The whole time Lindey is doing chest compressions and keeping my daughter alive. I was so impressed with her calmness and skill that shone through.
