Lindsay "Brooke" Kemp, BSN, RN, MEDSURG-BC

Brooke was my nurse and noticed a change in my heart rate and came running into my room. She immediately called the doctor. Two doctors responded and said that I was OK, then walked out. I knew something wasn’t right, and I was in and out of it. Brooke advocated for me and didn’t give up. My heart rate was in the 30s and because of Brooke, I was able to transfer to the ICU and get a pacemaker. I truly believe if Brooke wasn’t my nurse my condition may have been overlooked or worsened. Brooke is a shining star and deserves this recognition for not giving up on me even when the doctors disagreed with her.
