This nurse is currently still in her introductory period in Neurology and still in her first year of nursing. The MD she supports recently hosted an education for Neurofibromatosis and one of his patients called in and spoke with the nurse that she really wanted to attend the education day but speaks a language other than English as her primary language and was concerned she wouldn't be able to absorb the information provided and inquired about an interpreter. She went out of her way to ask if there was any way to help this mom be able to attend this education to better care for her child. She was provided with some possible resources and took the time to reach out and see if an interpreter would be available for this session. She went back and forth for days with the insurance company, ensuring this would work, and even when she was going to be off on the day we would confirm this could happen, she made sure this parent was going to be updated and receive the information she needed. Not only did she help make a meaningful difference in this mom's life, but she is also making a meaningful difference in the care this child will now receive. It is incredible to see a new nurse put such an effort into making something just a little easier for a parent and child!
