Lindsay didn’t just tend to a patient’s healing heart after her valve surgery; she also nurtured her spirit. Even amongst the many steps and tasks Lindsay had to take to improve the patient’s recovery status, she went the extra mile, adjusting her efforts to accommodate a visit from another patient, this patient’s husband, whom she had longed to see. Lindsay was patient and kind, stepping aside or safely adjusting her routine to accommodate the visit and giving them precious time together that lifted both their spirits. She wasn’t just healing her physical heart, but also her emotional one. That compassion in a nurse is hard to find and so valued! Thank you, Lindsay!
