Lindsay Slattery, RN
I would like to recognize Lindsay from TG CCU for the extraordinary care she provided to my son.
Following his surgery, my son had been having a relatively good day when his condition suddenly and rapidly declined. He struggled to breathe and was unable to maintain his oxygen levels. It was a terrifying moment as a parent, but Lindsay responded immediately with skill, urgency, and calm control. Her quick thinking and decisive actions made all the difference during a critical situation.
What stood out just as much as her clinical expertise was the compassion she showed. Despite the intensity of the moment, Lindsay kept me informed whenever she could, helping me understand what was happening and what she was doing to help my son. That communication brought reassurance in a time of fear and uncertainty.
Earlier, Lindsay had shared that she is also a “boy mom,” and in that chaotic moment, I saw how she balanced both her professional training and her personal empathy seamlessly. She cared for my son not only as a patient, but with a level of understanding and humanity that meant the world to me. I am incredibly grateful that Lindsay was there when he needed her most.
Her professionalism, compassion, and ability to act swiftly under pressure exemplify the very best of nursing. She truly made a lasting impact on our family, and I cannot think of anyone more deserving of this recognition.
