My mother was suffering from encephalopathy along with A-fib and increased HR issues. My mother's confusion and resistance to care was very difficult and she just kept trying. This whole experience was traumatic for the family. As my mother began to regain her cognitive abilities, the nurse was saying things like, "Oh there you are! I knew you were there the entire time and how wonderful to meet you." She and my mother created a special bond. Not giving up on people is really important, and recognizing they are always there is kind, wonderful, and needed. Thank you.
