She and the EMS team that night not only took care of me medically but emotionally and made sure that my fiancé and I were ok. I am forever in debt to her for the kindness and comfort she provided us that night.
Lindsey has precepted my group of nursing students for going on 10 weeks at JRMC. She has juggled multiple students and made time to ensure each of us are having a quality clinical experience. My fellow students and I were hesitant to jump into patient care, but Lindsey has pushed us to be hands-on and excited about it. I have worked for years as a paramedic on the ground and in the air, and I can say, after seeing hundreds of preceptors, Lindsey exemplifies the concepts of beneficence, veracity, and accountability.

I would like to nominate Emergency Department Nurse, Lindsey Engelken for the DAISY Award. Not only is Lindsey an amazing coworker to work alongside every day, but she also provides exceptional patient care and is one of the kindest souls I’ve ever met. While we don’t work in the same department, she’s always willing to help us, always checking in and always has a smile on her face, willing to jump in wherever she’s needed. I have also personally received care from Lindsey. I unfortunately suffered a miscarriage in December of 2022. We felt lost and hopeless. Lindsey, without hesitation, came in and started an ultrasound-guided IV, got pain medications in my system, and stayed by my side the entire time, jumping into action without even hesitating. She and the EMS team that night not only took care of me medically but emotionally and made sure that my fiancé and I were ok. I am forever in debt to her for the kindness and comfort she provided us that night. From crying with me, then to laughing with me, now she is an amazing nurse and friend!
