February 2026 Honoree
Lindsey Cizas, BSN, RN
During my hospital stay, Lindsey C. made a meaningful difference in my care at a moment when I felt scared, overwhelmed, and unseen. One night, my pain suddenly increased, and I became anxious after my call light had gone unanswered for a bit. When Lindsey came in, she didn’t rush or dismiss my concerns. She pulled up a chair, made eye contact, and calmly asked me to explain exactly what I was feeling. Lindsey carefully reassessed my pain, noticed subtle changes in my condition, and immediately contacted the provider to advocate for an adjustment to my care plan. While we waited, she stayed with me, explaining each step of what was happening and reassuring me that my discomfort mattered. She used simple breathing techniques to help calm my anxiety and checked back frequently, even after her other tasks were done. What stood out most was how personal her care felt. Lindsey treated me like a person, not just a patient in a room. Because of her attentiveness, advocacy, and compassion, my pain was managed more effectively, and I felt safe and supported. Lindsey C.’s dedication truly made a lasting impact on my healing experience.
Thank you, Lindsey, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
