February 2021 Honoree
lindsey ellis, RN
Sunshine on a cloudy day! The DAISY is my favorite flower - Lindsey Ellis was my sunshine and my DAISY on the day of my fiancé's back surgery. He arrived in his room around 1:45 pm; that's when Lindsey met me with her amazing, caring smile. She was so attentive to all of his needs; not one time did he have to call for her. She was always there.
Lindsey was also so good to me, making sure I had blankets, sheets, etc. for the bed in the room so I could stay with him. We were 4-1/2 to 5 hours from home but Lindsey made me feel so at home. That smile and attentiveness that is not taught in school - that is a true person doing more than just a job, going above and beyond because they love their job. It's more of a calling and it definitely is for Lindsey! She treated me so special and I wasn't even the patient.
I watched Lindsey and the way she was with the young CNA working with her and it made my heart happy; she worked and taught the young lady, and the young lady was so happy and full of smiles, laughs, and giggles all because of Lindsey. Lindsey makes a hospital stay such a different experience. Sunshine on a cloudy day was Lindsey Ellis; a smile that's contagious and true love for her job and patients.
