My dad was admitted with some tragic and life-changing news. For two days he had Lindsey as a nurse, I am an only child and only had my dad left. Lindsey told me that during their time together, he was able to smile, share memories, and was slightly naughty at times. Lindsay took his anxiety and activity with the greatest of professionalism and moved him closer to the nurse’s station so he would remain safe. We made the decision to transition to Comfort Care on Sunday. Lindsay held a presence for us. She stayed strong while we grieved. My dad quickly changed his condition. Once the decision was made, my dad continued to struggle to be comfortable and at peace. Lindsay went above and beyond to complete the transfer to hospice at the end of her shift. She said, “My priority these last 2 days has been to get your dad comfortable. I will stay as long as that takes”. She left at 2030, I hugged her, she cried. She showed so much compassion for my dad. She said she hadn’t experienced this situation in her 6 years, I wouldn’t have known as she handled the situation with love and grace. I am eternally grateful. My dad passed away the following day with family at his side and a peaceful smirk on his face.

Thank you, Lindsey, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
