Several weeks ago, my wife’s mother went to United after a possible stroke. She was 102 years old. While she struggled to speak, she did convey that she wished to pass on as her body could no longer sustain itself. During the time that she spent at United, Lindsey Hawkins went out of her way to comfort her, speak with her kindly, and make sure that any pain was well controlled. Lindsey did an excellent job communicating with our family about her/our options and what to expect as her passing progressed. We really appreciated her insights and honesty. Also, her respect for my mother-in-law's life and dignity. We were very happy with the care she received at United, and Lindsey played a big part in this. While we are sad about my mother-in-law's passing, we feel that over the course of 3-5 days, we were provided with a supportive and comfortable environment to say our goodbyes.
