As a NICU nurse, Lindsey Junjulas consistently demonstrates the kind of clinical judgment and compassion that define extraordinary nursing.
One recent experience reflects not only her skill, but the depth of her commitment to the babies and families she cares for. A former NICU baby was admitted to pediatrics, and the team reached out to NICU for supplies. Lindsey had cared for this baby in the past and had developed a strong, trusting relationship with his mother, so she chose to deliver the supplies. Upon entering the room, she assessed that there was a problem. Her fine-tuned neonatal skills allowed her to recognize the need for immediate intervention. She quickly escalated her concerns and stayed to stabilize the baby and assist in his care until transfer to a PICU. Lindsey made a difference for this family, as she often does with her skill and care.
