Lindsey learned her patient was a farmer and used that information to connect with him by talking about cattle. In addition to building a relationship with her patient, Lindsey advocated for her patient to ensure proper tests were ordered and results were acted upon.
"I have been a nurse for more than 35 years and am extremely impressed with Lindsey's empathy and compassion. She explained evidence-based solutions to this 88-year-old man in terms he could understand. Her professionalism was unmatched, and she collaborated with her peers and physicians well. Lindsey is an excellent nurse and I would let her care for me, which is quite a compliment since I am a nurse."
