It was a Friday with limited staff. The whole team was off except for Lindsey. A patient came in with an urgent need to get an infectious disease medication that was ordered from a community provider but his consult had expired and he could not afford the cost of the very expensive medicine. Lindsey spent over 2 hours working with the pharmacy and the community providers office to get an urgent secondary authorization sent for the patient. Lindsey went above and beyond covering for her team to help this patient with his medical need. After diligent efforts, she was successful in getting the patient the urgent medication he needed to treat his illness through the weekend.
