On the morning after Lindsey's seven nights of work she went and sat with a heart transplant patient awaiting a heart catheterization for a biopsy (this patient had been in CICU and became friends with Lindsey---she was on 3 South when Lindsey heard about her situation). The patient's husband was going home to take care of some things and the patient was very anxious about having the procedure done. This was a patient that had already left the CICU and moved to the floor. Lindsey stayed with her that morning and ended up helping the patient wash her hair. Then they both took a nap while awaiting the cath. The cath ended up getting cancelled due to more emergent procedures but Lindsey stayed with her until that afternoon. I feel like Lindsey went above and beyond in order to make the patient feel less anxious about her procedure.
