Lindsay is the epitome of a kind, caring, selfless nurse. She is an angel in scrubs. She cares for our patients with the most wonderful, unassuming, quiet kindness that emanates from her in all settings. She meets patients where they are, whether in joy or sadness, to accommodate their needs in an individualized and special way.
One example of the kind of impact Lindsay has on our patients is her work with families who have experienced a still-birth. She not only provides them the utmost in compassionate, culturally sensitive care as a nurse, but she has also come in on her days off (sometimes late at night to accommodate her busy life as a small business owner and mother of two young children) to donate her time and expertise in photography. She takes beautiful, heartbreaking portraits of the babies and their parents so that the family will have a memory of the short time they had with their angel.
Lindsay also donates her time, equipment, and expertise to edit the photographs so the family will be able to look back on their child and remember how they looked and how loved they were. I cannot stress enough the impact that this has on a family in grief. The acknowledgment, respect, kindness, and personal effort truly changes lives and helps our families through their darkest moments. Lindsay has truly epitomized what it means to provide exceptional care without expecting any recognition in return.
