Lindsey helped care for a 19-year-old developmentally delayed patient who was admitted to the pediatric unit while waiting to find permanent placement for him. He was on the peds unit for over 90 days after being left in the ED by his family.
To help prepare the patient for his transfer to his new home, Lindsey created a book for him to remember his friends here at SAMC. She took pictures of staff who cared for him and included stories of how each staff made a difference in this patient's life and exemplifies the mission and values of AMITA Health.
