Lindsey has not only made such incredible relationships with her coworkers but also with patients and their families.
Lindsey had to be one of the best nurses I’ve met while working on 4800. Lindsey was a part of the first group of LPNs who got hired last year and every day she proves that we made the right decision. There is no task too small or too big for her. Lindsey has not only made such incredible relationships with her coworkers but also with patients and their families. She’s someone you can always count on and she’s always right there when you need her. Even when she has her own assignment with 8 plus patients Lindsey always makes it her business to go around the unit and see if anyone needs help, most of the time, she doesn’t even ask and takes the initiative and jumps right in.
Today we had a code and before it was called Lindsey was taking report and noticed her coworkers rushing into a room, she saw they were concerned and she stopped what she was doing and followed behind. Just a minute later I heard her scream, “Call a Code”. Lindsey did not leave the patient's side. She stayed and did all she could to keep the patient alive, even with a poor outcome.
Lindsey was one of the main nurses running the code and did not crack under pressure. As she walked out of the room her shoes and scrubs were covered in the patient's bodily fluids and it didn’t even phase her. She said, “I have shoes in my locker and there are scrubs in the locker room I’ll get changed and get right back to report.” That is dedication, determination, and strength.
Lindsey shows so many wonderful traits as a nurse. She doesn’t just do a “nurse's job” she helps with every aspect of the job. Answering phones, helping PCTs with bed changes and daily patient care, passing trays and collecting them, taking the trash out of patients' rooms and these are only some things she does to help her coworkers.
Lindsey is an example of a person who loves what she is doing, this isn’t just a job for her this is her passion and she shows that through her work. Lindsey is someone you want to take care of your family or friend. I myself always say “If anything was to happen to me while I’m at work and Lindsay is here, I know I will be safe." Lindsey deserves recognition for all her hard work and dedication. WE are very lucky to have Lindsey as part of our 4800 team, we know there’s so much more to come with Lindsey and we can’t wait to see.
