September 2025 Honoree
Lindsey Warfield, BSN, RN, CCRN
I have been meaning to nominate this nurse for a long time now, and this event reminded me to do so. We had a code blue event that occurred in our unit. Coming out of my break, when I heard the code called overhead, Lindsey was already at the bedside leading the code. We coded this patient for nearly 30 minutes with no pulse present. The physician was asking team members if we wanted to call the code, and Lindsey spoke up to go another round of defib/CPR. After completing another round, the patient had palpable pulses. Team members, including the physician, were so glad that Lindsey spoke up to go another round. The patient was then transferred to the ICU. I have been in RRT and code events with Lindsey, and I am always confident in her assessment, skills, and expertise. Lindsey always actively leads the code event with calmness, confidence, and respect. Whenever she is our RRT nurse, I have a sense of relief knowing she will round on our critical patients and check in with the nurses. She is always willing to teach, motivate, and share feedback when necessary. Lindsey is well-deserved of this award. She exemplifies what an extraordinary nurse should be.
Thank you, Lindsey, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
