Linette advocated for him to be transferred to the hospital where his cardiologist works.
My father came into the ER with shoulder and neck pain, and Nikki advocated for further testing to rule out the gallbladder; the doctor then admitted him to the ICU for evaluation and further testing. While in the ICU, he had a cardiac event and coded. The team worked really hard and brought him back, at which point he was intubated and unconscious. His day shift nurse informed us immediately and told us we should come to the hospital. She was super kind and very willing to inform us of his condition. The doctor on duty said it would be a miracle if he pulled through. When the night shift came on that evening, Linette took over his case. She called us to let us know that he was coming around and informed us that she was going to do everything she could do to get him to a higher level of care after they had drained a full liter of fluid from around his heart. She advocated for him to be transferred to the hospital where his cardiologist works. She made sure he was able to get to his doctors, who knew his history, so he could be taken care of. Had it not been for the team effort of this group of fantastic nurses, I do not believe my father would have made it through the night. I want to thank them for giving us more time with him.
