I'd like to let you know about an exceptional caregiver I had the honor of being treated by during my recent hospitalization. My nurse, Linnea, from Labor & Delivery helped me through the stillbirth of my daughter. Linnea was so compassionate when I arrived in my room for my induction. She allowed me space to cry and she explained what would happen and all my options for pain relief. She was quick to help when I had complications arise (low blood pressure following my epidural) and she offered me her hand to squeeze during the most painful parts. I went through transition during her shift change and instead of leaving, she stayed with me. When the baby came quickly and the doctor hadn't made it back to the hospital yet, Linnea delivered my sweet baby. She did so very calmly and she wrapped my baby up and quickly gave her to me to hold. She took care of everything so smoothly and was right there with my husband and me as we processed the experience. When she took the baby from me to wrap her more securely, she spoke to her so kindly even though the baby had passed. That meant so much to me as a mother. We will always remember Linnea for helping me through my labor but also for delivering our sweet baby girl and helping us through the process of letting her go.
