Nurse Linus Mubuifor.

The client is a new member of the Consumer Advisory Board at the Wellness Center. In our last meeting, the client told his story of how much he appreciates RN Linus Mubuifor for being there for him in the darkest time of his life. He said he was hospitalized at UMC after moving here from CA. He was not taking his HIV meds due to being lost in the process of relocating and ended up in the hospital. Linus came to his bedside every day to check on him but he was not ready to talk about his care. Linus told him that when he is ready, he would be right there for him so he could get back in care. The client got discharged but ended up trying to take his own live, so he ended up in the hospital again. Linus, once again was there for him, waiting for this client to talk to him and let him know what kind of services we have for the client’s HIV care. The client was then transferred to Rawson-Neal Hospital but his situation did not change, still lost in finding the right path to take. The client then called Linus after realizing he spiraling out of control and he was just getting sicker, because he was not taking his HIV meds. Linus answered the client’s call for help and hooked up the client to services at UMC and other community providers. The client is back in care and now has a job as one of our community providers. He is thriving and is now writing a book. He became a patient advocate himself and claims that if it wasn’t for Linus, he would not be here today.
