I have observed that staff leave her teaching sessions with increased knowledge and a greater ability to deliver better patient care.
Lisa is a Clinical Educator on the Trauma and Orthopaedic wards, and I have had the privilege of working with her on many occasions. What makes Lisa stand out is her passion and commitment to teaching and providing excellent patient care. She ensures that our workforce and new starters are equipped with the knowledge and skills they need.

Her approach is unique, and her audiences are always captivated and engaged during her sessions. Lisa consistently seizes the opportunity to involve students in any teaching sessions she is facilitating. Whenever I visit the ward, Lisa is either providing bedside teaching or conducting sessions for staff in her resource room.

There is nothing Lisa cannot do. She often steps in at the last minute to help with the S.T.E.P. program when someone drops out, delivering her sessions with passion and enthusiasm. One of her most remarkable sessions is on Dementia, titled "J - My Mum's Dementia Journey." This session, based on her own lived experience, is full of emotion, empathy, and compassion, often bringing everyone, including herself, to tears.

I have observed that staff leave her teaching sessions with increased knowledge and a greater ability to deliver better patient care. Lisa also incorporates 'Patient Storytelling' in her sessions to emphasize the importance of procedures such as skin checks and fluid balances. Her teaching sessions consistently receive excellent feedback, with comments such as "I really enjoyed Lisa's session" and "A powerful and moving story that I won't forget."

As a colleague, I greatly admire her work ethic and commitment. It is not uncommon for Lisa to come in on her day off to teach. I believe Lisa is very deserving of a DAISY Award, as her knowledge and experience, shared both in teaching sessions and at the bedside, have a profoundly positive impact on patient care and experience.
