Lisa Bradford, RN

Lisa takes advocating for patients and her fellow employees to the next level. During the IT downtime crisis, Lisa advocated for a post-operative patient and brought to light major issues with narcotic prescriptions during that difficult time— and ensured before the patient discharged that she exhausted all of her options before sending the patient home. The following day, even with the patient discharged, Lisa continued to follow the status of the narcotic issue and escalated her issues to the proper management team.

When it comes to advocating for her fellow employees, Lisa has taken a nurse and their child into her home when they had nowhere else to turn… and she is the first person to offer a hand when someone is having a hard time. She’s hosted bake sales to raise money for a coworker's child to attend a college softball camp, and she’s campaigned to adopt a family in need during the holidays. She is the type of person you want as a nurse in your hospital, and we are so very lucky to have her at UMC.
