Lisa Card, LPN

The nurse that I am recommending for the DAISY Award has not been working in homecare for a very long time, but she has adapted very quickly. She is always ready to take on new challenges and looks to improve her skills. She works well with her colleagues and our patients. She collaborates with the team and management to provide the best care for her patients. Over the past year, she has encountered some difficult patients, families, and situations that may have made others walk away. She faces these challenges head-on and does her best to come up with ideas to help so that there is a good outcome for the patient.

One case that Lisa worked on comes to mind involving a difficult family and a patient who had a complex medical history and was very demanding. The visit was time-consuming; this nurse would go into the home with a positive attitude and make sure she rendered the best possible care to the pt in an uncomfortable situation. Lisa shows her dedication to her patients and the agency on a daily basis, and she is an asset to our team and the agency.
